Job Description

General description

  • Unix server administrator in 2nd level environment is able to independently check, execute, solve (where appropriate), and create tickets (problem ticket, change management ticket, incident, delivery order (DO)) in order to maintain service to customers according to given quality KPIs and internal processes (incident management (INM), change management (CHM), problem management  (PRM), delivery order management ( DOM)).    

 

Accountabilities

  • Planning and installation of Oracle based servers
  • Ensuring smooth IT operation including troubleshooting, fault analysis and escalation
  • Upon request: performance and capacity monitoring
  • Execute project and other deliverables in order to fulfil KPIs and management requests.
  • Conformity with the internal work instructions and process guidelines within T-Systems.
  • Participate on regular and/or irregular communication with colleagues in an international environment to ensure operational goals.
  • Participation on on-call duties , independent solving and troubleshooting of incidents and errors within defined expertise 
  • Perform team specific non-technical tasks such as quality/ process/ reporting to support daily operation.
  • Check, execute and resolve OS related incidents
  • Active participation on post implementation issues including the use of internal technical support and vendor support to ensure troubleshooting, maintenance, and an efficient end-user support
  • Resolve hardware related incidents
  • Proactive and reactive Problem Management (PRM)
  • Creation, implementation and validation of changes
  • Technical validation of changes and cooperation with the requestor
  • Technical planning of the change including writing the change script
  • Periodic upgrades and updates
  • Co-ordinate patching, including scheduling to minimize disruption and verification of service continuity
  • Co-ordinate the patching with the local customer and First Line
  • Experience with following technologies (advantage): Oracle Solaris, Oracle Solaris Cluster, Oracle VM Server for SPARC Logical Domains , Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability

  • German (advantage)

  • Creation, configuration and maintenance of virtual systems
  • Basic knowledge in the area of IP
  • Basic knowledge in script programming (e.g. Pearl, Python) is big advantage
  • General ITIL knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem, Request Management)

 

Salary

  • Minimum base salary 690 € + variable part + other financial benefits.
  • The final basic wage component can be adjusted accordingly to individual skills and experience of selected candidate.
